Manila, April 21 -- The F. Manalo Bridge in Pasig City will be expanded into four lanes from the current two lanes, Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon announced Tuesday.

"We're going to make it wider instead of two lanes, Mayor (Vico Sotto) requested to make it four lanes and that's what we're going to do," Dizon said during the inspection of the bridge with the Pasig City mayor.

Dizon said right-of-way concerns at the bridge's Quezon City side had to be settled first before they can start building the permanent bridge.

The DPWH is looking to start the reconstruction of the bridge this year.
