Manila, Jan. 26 -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) began its technical assessment of the collapsed flood control project in Arayat, Pampanga.

In a statement, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon said engineering teams are on-site to implement urgent measures to protect affected houses and residents.

He said the design would be overhauled to ensure a structurally sound and permanent flood control system.

Dizon said they are identifying liable parties, including the contractor, DPWH personnel, and others involved.
