MANILA, Nov. 20 -- Acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez has ordered a stricter enforcement of safety protocols following a technical glitch at the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) on Tuesday.

In a meeting at the DOTr office in San Juan City on Thursday, Lopez said safety protocols and best practices must be followed during such incidents to ensure the safety of the riding public.

"Gusto nating maayos at mabilis ang implementasyon ng safety protocol sa lahat ng riles ng tren para maging maagap tayo at matiyak ang kahandaan natin sa ano mang mga untoward incidents (We want a proper and quick implementation of safety protocols in all train lines for us to be careful and ready for any untoward incident)," he said.
