Manila, July 25 -- The Department of Tourism (DOT) has temporarily closed several tourist sites and suspended tourism activities in various regions due to persistent monsoon rains and Severe Tropical Storm Emong (international name Co-May).
In an advisory issued Friday, the DOT urged tourists and tourism stakeholders to prioritize safety, remain vigilant, and follow the guidance of both national and local authorities.
As of 5 p.m. Thursday, the following regions have reported suspended activities or temporary closures of tourism sites:
National Capital Region (NCR)
--Closure of People's Park and Nature Park in Caloocan, Tagalag Eco-Tourism Park in Valenzuela, and select museums in Pasig, Makati, and San Juan.
