Manila, March 23 -- The Department of Tourism (DOT) convened the first high-level meeting of the Philippine Cruise Tourism Development Committee following its reconstitution.
The DOT, in a news release on Monday, said the discussion held at the Hilton Manila in Pasay City aims to accelerate the growth of cruise tourism.
DOT officer-in-charge Secretary Verna Buensuceso led discussions on cruise infrastructure development, harmonization of tourism data, utilization of cruise visa waivers, and updates on the Maritime Industry Development Program.
The Philippines is looking to receive 127 cruise ship calls in 2026, describing this as a reflection of cruise operators' "sustained engagement" with the country.
