BUTUAN CITY, June 9 -- The Department of Labor and Employment office in Caraga Region (DOLE-13) began high-impact inspections on Tuesday of the ongoing construction of high-rise buildings in this city, in line with labor-related laws.

In an interview on Tuesday, DOLE-13 Regional Director Jason Balais said 24 labor inspectors from different provinces in the region are taking part in the weeklong inspection and assessment activities.

Around 47 buildings that are still under construction, both private and government-owned, will be covered by the members of the inspection team.

"The activity aims to determine if the construction of these buildings complies with occupational safety and health standards," Balais said.
