BAGUIO, Feb. 17 -- The Department of Labor and Employment-Cordillera Administrative Region (DOLE-CAR) has reminded employers of the wage difference for workers who are on duty on Tuesday, during the Chinese New Year holiday.
Based on Labor Advisory 01-2026, Feb. 17, 2026 is a non-working holiday nationwide, thus employees who reported for work will be entitled to an additional 30 percent of basic wage for the first eight hours of duty.
An additional 30 percent of the hourly rate must be given to an employee who renders work in excess of the eight hours, it said.
Employees who are on regular day off but tasked to be on duty are entitled to an additional 50 percent pay on top of the eight-hour pay they must receive.
