LEGAZPI CITY, June 12 -- The Department of Labor and Employment in Bicol (DOLE-5) has released over PHP33 million cash assistance under its various programs and opened more than 1,900 job opportunities during the Independence Day celebration.

In an interview on Friday, Johana Vi Gasga, DOLE-5 spokesperson, said the cash aid is part of the payout for more than 3,400 beneficiaries and 29 employers in the region.

The assistance includes livelihood support, JobStart opportunities, wage payouts under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program, and stipends under the Government Internship Program (GIP).
