Calamba City Laguna, Aug. 13 -- To address the effects of severe flooding caused by recent typhoons and the southwest monsoon, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) 4-A (Calabarzon) has allocated PHP20.3 million under its Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program to 400 residents in Cainta, Rizal.
The funding will expedite the implementation of the Imelda Avenue Drainage Cleanup Project.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, DOLE said the 400 residents will be engaged for 90 days starting Wednesday to undertake a large-scale drainage cleanup. Their work will focus on the Imelda Avenue area and its flood-prone subdivisions.
