Manila, Aug. 7 -- The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday said the government's top forensic pathologist overseeing the investigation into the Duterte administration's War on Drugs has been asked to examine skeletal remains recovered from Taal Lake, in connection with the missing "sabungeros" (cockfight enthusiasts) case.

In an update to reporters, DOJ spokesperson Mico Clavano said the department has asked for the assistance of the University of the Philippines forensics experts to augment the limited capacity of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in processing the skeletal remains.
