Manila, Oct. 1 -- The Department of Health (DOH) has dispatched additional medicines and medical supplies worth PHP933,647 to earthquake-hit Cebu, reinforcing ongoing emergency response efforts in the province.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, the DOH reported that a C-130 aircraft loaded with the commodities took off from Villamor Air Base at 6:58 p.m. to Mactan, Cebu, in coordination with the Office of Civil Defense.
DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa said the move, carried out under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., ensures the continuity of emergency health services in Cebu following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that hit the province on Tuesday.
