Manila, Aug. 13 -- Department of Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon on Thursday vowed to finish repair works on Maysan Road in Valenzuela City early next year.

The DPWH chief inspected the road with Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian to assess the condition of the pothole-riddled road which has been causing travel delays for motorists and commuters for years.

"We have secured funding for 2026, (the works) should have started already if not due to incessant rain. I've promised that as soon as the rain lets up a bit, we will mobilize and get to work. The district engineers gave a timeline of 8 to 10 months, but I told them that was too long," Dizon told reporters.
