Manila, Sept. 24 -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has asked the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) to freeze assets worth over PHP5 billion of 27 individuals, including Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Elizaldy Co, who are being linked to anomalous flood control projects.

In a press briefing on Wednesday at the DPWH head office in Manila, Secretary Vince Dizon revealed that the request for the freezing of assets includes vehicles of 26 DPWH officials and private contractors amounting to PHP474,483,120.

Last week, an initial 135 bank accounts and 27 insurance policies of the former and active DPWH personnel and private contractors involved in the alleged anomalies were frozen.
