BUTUAN CITY, July 28 -- The provincial government of Dinagat Islands rolled out its rice assistance to residents in the town of San Jose on Monday, coinciding with the delivery of the fifth State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Provincial Information Office said that each of the 2,089 residents in the town received 10 kilos of rice in a one-day distribution activity.

The release of the rice assistance was led by Anthony Demerey, who represented Governor Nilo Demerey Jr.

"The rice assistance was implemented through the Financial Assistance to Local Government Units, a program under the Local Government Support Fund of the national government," the PIO said.
