Manila, July 20 -- The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday said it is currently coordinating with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to gather details regarding a recent incident at Ayungin Shoal, warning that any aggression against Filipino troops will not be tolerated.

In a statement, the DFA emphasized that the safety of the personnel stationed at the BRP Sierra Madre remains a top priority.

"The DFA is in coordination with the AFP regarding the details of the incident," it said.

The agency issued a firm stance against the reported actions.

"Any act of violence against Filipino personnel is unacceptable and will merit the appropriate diplomatic action," it added.
