Manila, July 24 -- As President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. prepares to deliver his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 27, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is pointing to gains in frontline service delivery, environmental rehabilitation, and community programs, saying recent reforms have made government transactions faster while expanding efforts to protect natural resources and improve the lives of Filipinos.

Environment Secretary Juan Miguel Cuna said the agency has worked to simplify transactions without easing environmental standards, following the administration's directive to make government services more responsive.
