Manila, April 24 -- A government convergent program geared towards developing climate-resilient and self-reliant communities was formally launched in Iloilo City on Friday, led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

DENR Secretary Juan Miguel Cuna, in his keynote address, said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has directed the provision of housing that is resilient to climate change and livelihood programs that sustain communities.

The initiative dubbed "Handog ng Pangulo: Luntiang Bukas" anchors on four vital pillars: Handog Titulo which formalizes the long-standing bond between families and the land they have nurtured; climate-ready homes; space for all linear development; and nature and livelihood.
