MANILA, Oct. 16 -- The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said Thursday it referred to the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) the petition for a Writ of Kalikasan seeking to compel government agencies to address perennial flooding in the country.
This was after the Supreme Court (SC) en banc, in a resolution dated Sept. 30, required the Office of the President and other government agencies, including the DBM, to comment on the petition within 10 days from notice.
In a statement, the DBM said the OSG received a copy of the SC resolution on Wednesday.
"We confirm that the DBM has received a copy of the petition and the Supreme Court's directive," it said.
