Manila, Oct. 5 -- The municipal government launched on Wednesday a flagship initiative that reflects the community's deep-rooted commitment to agriculture, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
Dubbed the KUGI (Kaalam sa Uma, Gugma sa Kina-iyahan or knowledge of farming, love for nature) Program, the initiative aims to uplift the lives of Matanawenos while preserving and protecting the environment.
In an interview, Mayor Irick Agbon said KUGI is one of eight priority programs under his administration.
"Agri, ecotourism, and environment is a transformative initiative that empowers local farmers, promotes eco-tourism, and strengthens environmental stewardship for future generations," he said.
