ZAMBOANGA CITY, July 23 -- Personnel of the city government of Dapitan planted 60 native seedlings during a coastal tree-planting activity on Thursday, strengthening its commitment to environmental conservation.

In a statement, the Dapitan City Information Division (DCID) said the native trees that were planted include the Balokbalok, Bituag, and Talisay, which were lined up along the shoreline of Purok Pasil in Barangay Polo.

"The initiative reinforces the city's continuing efforts to restore and protect its coastal ecosystem through the planting of indigenous tree species," the DCID said.
