LEGAZPI CITY, Oct. 10 -- The Department of Agriculture Bicol (DA-5) will distribute PHP63.7 million worth of aid to farmers affected by Severe Tropical Storm Opong (international name Bualoi) last month in Masbate province, causing damage to the agricultural industry.

The aid package will include rice, corn, and vegetable seeds, as well as livestock and biologics.

"We have PHP63.7 million worth of assistance that can be distributed starting next week, which includes seeds for planting rice, corn, and vegetables, as well as animal livestock biologics," Lovella Guarin, chief of the DA-Bicol Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Information Section, said in an interview.
