Baguio City, July 25 -- The Department of Agriculture (DA) in the Cordillera region said it is ready to deploy Kadiwa trucks to assist farmers in transporting unsold vegetables, as trading activity in Benguet remains low due to flooding in Metro Manila and other lowland provinces.
"We are prepared to dispatch our Kadiwa trucks to deliver vegetables directly to buyers and prevent spoilage, which could cause heavy losses for farmers. If rescue operations are needed, we will act," DA-Cordillera Director Jennilyn Dawayan said in a phone interview with the Philippine News Agency on Thursday.
