Manila, Jan. 26 -- Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. on Monday highlighted the long-term benefits of the USD8 million worth of investment in smart greenhouses in Aklan.

The project was formally launched by the DA, in partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), at the Aklan Agri-Aqua Demo Farm and Training Center in Barangay Nalook, Kalibo town on Jan. 23.

In a statement, the agriculture chief said the flagship project under the Value Chain Enhancement of High-Value Crops through Smart Agriculture (VEHCSA) seeks to provide a long-term impact on the lives of Filipino farmers.
