Manila, Sept. 14 -- The Department of Agriculture (DA) on Monday said it will roll out about PHP71.52 million worth of farm-to-market road (FMR) projects in Concepcion, Tarlac.

This is in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), as the two agencies signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on Sept. 10 for the construction of four projects with a combined length of 5.43 kilometers (km).

In a statement, DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. said these FMR projects will help reduce transportation costs and further enhance logistics for the movement of agricultural commodities.

"Farm-to-market roads are shortcuts for the development and prosperity of our farmers and rural communities," he said.
