Manila, Dec. 15 -- Cordillera minimum wage workers, 'kasambahay' get salary hike

MANILA - Minimum wage earners and domestic helpers or "kasambahay" in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) will receive an additional pay amounting to PHP35 and PHP600, respectively, before the end of the month.

This, after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board - CAR granted the hike through Wage Order No. CAR-24, increasing the minimum wage in the region from PHP470 to PHP505.

Covered by the increase are all minimum wage earners in the private sector within the region, regardless of their position, designation or status and irrespective of the method by which their wages are paid.
