Manila, Aug. 19 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is looking at tapping the services of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to assist voters in the forthcoming Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections (BPE).
In an interview on Tuesday, Comelec Chairperson George Garcia said they are considering deploying PCG personnel, in case their services are needed in the Oct. 13 polls.
He added that they are preparing to train PCG personnel to be members of the Electoral Board (EB), if there are teachers who would fail to serve in the election.
