MANILA, Oct. 16 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is looking at nine contractors that have supposedly contributed to the campaign funds of candidates who ran in the May 2025.

According to Comelec Chairperson George Garcia, the possible illegal contributions are being probed by the poll body's Political Finance and Affairs Department (PFAD) after looking at the Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCEs) of those who ran in the last elections.

However, he did not reveal if these national candidates won or lost in the May 12 polls.
