Legazpi, Aug. 4 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Bicol reported that it received 44,630 voters' registration applications on Aug. 1 to 3.
Comelec-Bicol Director Maria Juana Valeza said there was a noticeable interest among the youth in registering and participating in the Sangguniang Kabataan polls.
"Gen Zs are turning out in droves to register in the Bicol Region. It's a good sign that they are interested to participate in our democratic processes," she said.
Valeza said applications received include new registrations, corrections of entries, reactivations, and changes or corrections in voters' records.
Camarines Sur had the highest turnout with 12,922, followed by Albay with 12,373, Masbate with 7,927, Sorsogon with 5,584...
