Legazpi City, Aug. 11 -- The Commission on Elections in Bicol (Comelec-5) exceeded the quota for its voter registration drive in 10 days.
Comelec-Bicol Director Maria Juana Valeza said they anticipated about 120,000 registrants but received over 207,000 from Aug. 1 to 10.
"We are very ecstatic and thankful for the overwhelming cooperation, patience, enthusiasm, and understanding from everyone - the youth, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, local government units, mall owners, the police, media, parents, and all Comelec personnel," she said.
According to the report, Camarines Sur had the highest turnout with 61,226 registrants, followed by Albay with 54,034, Masbate with 35,352, Sorsogon with 28,823, Camarines Norte with 16,888...
