Manila, Oct. 1 -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday said there is no law to enforce after the Supreme Court (SC) declared the Bangsamoro Autonomy Act (BAA) No. 58 and BAA No. 77 as both unconstitutional.
In a statement, Comelec Chairperson George Garcia said they are back to zero as to the preparations for the first Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary Elections (BPE), which is set to be held this month.
"Now, it is very clear that we have no law to enforce. It's back to zero for Comelec," he said.
"But in the meantime, the ball is in the hands of the Bangsamoro Parliament. We shall be waiting for their action and compliance," he added.
