DUMAGUETE CITY, Dec. 12 -- The Philippine Coast Guard in Negros Oriental is adding more floating assets to enhance maritime security and disaster response, an official said on Friday.
Lt. Marionne Abigal Enopia, commander of Coast Guard Station Negros Oriental, told the Philippine News Agency that three aluminum boats have been repaired, and three new units are en route as additional support.
"The three refurbished aluminum boats were tested at sea today and will be deployed right away once their operational status is confirmed," Enopia said.
"These boats will help the Coast Guard undertake regular maritime patrols, search and rescue, and other operations," she added.
