Manila, Sept. 11 -- The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) has committed to lead, along with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), a push for stronger cooperation among ASEAN countries to address online child safety and cybercrime.

In a statement on Friday, CICC Executive Director Undersecretary Aboy Paraiso said the agency will take a strong lead in pursuing the regional initiative, which will cover not only child safety but also the broader fight against cybercrime.

"I think we all agree also on the strategic approach, and I commit that DICT and CICC will take a strong lead on the charge for ASEAN," Paraiso said.
