Manila, Feb. 23 -- The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) is recalibrating its diaspora engagement strategy as migration of Filipinos to Europe expands in scale and complexity, positioning them as active development partners rather than solely recipients of welfare support.
In a news release on Monday, the CFO said the shift was underscored during a recent multi-stakeholder forum, which convened migration experts and policymakers to examine emerging trends and the shifting landscape of the Philippines-Europe migration corridor.
"Diaspora engagement must move beyond welfare and consular concerns," the CFO said during the panel discussion.
