Manila, Aug. 8 -- A Cagayan de Oro court has convicted one of the three individuals arrested last October for the illegal trade of depleted uranium bricks, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said Friday.
The NBI said Roy Cabesas Vistal was found guilty by the Municipal Trial Court in Cagayan de Oro City (MTCC-CDO) last Aug. 7 of violation of the "Atomic Energy Regulatory and Liability Act of 1968" (Republic Act 5207) and sentenced him to one year imprisonment.
The charges against the two other accused, Mae Zagala and Arnel Santiago, before the Pasay Regional Trial Court (RTC) remain pending in the meantime, the NBI said.
