BUTUAN CITY, Oct. 10 -- Local government units (LGUs) across the Caraga Region have convened their respective Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (DRRMCs) and implemented wide-ranging precautionary measures following the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that hit most parts of Mindanao on Friday morning.
In Dinagat Islands, OIC-Governor Geraldine "Jade" Ecleo immediately issued an executive order for preemptive measures, including the temporary suspension of sea travels and the implementation of preemptive evacuation protocols in coastal barangays.
The Coast Guard Station in the province also enforced the travel suspension, although the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has already canceled the tsunami war...
