CALAMBA CITY, Aug. 12 -- The Calabarzon Region posted an inflation rate of 5.8 percent in July 2026, down from 6.3 percent in the previous month, according to a regional Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA 4-A) official.

The July figure was lower than June 2026's rate of 6.3 percent but higher than July 2025's 1.8 percent. The average year-to-date inflation rate from January to July 2026 stood at 5.0 percent.

PSA 4-A Regional Director Charito C. Armonia, in a message Wednesday, said that the slower month-on-month increase in overall prices was attributed to a decline in education services, which registered a -1.3 percent inflation rate.
