CALAMBA CITY, July 15 -- Inflation in the Calabarzon Region eased to 6.3 percent in June 2026 from 6.8 percent in May, the regional office of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA IV-A) reported Wednesday.

The rate is higher than June 2025's 1.8 percent, while the year-to-date average for January to June 2026 stands at 4.9 percent.

"The slowdown was mainly driven by a slower rise in transport prices (10.8 percent) followed by housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (9.7 percent) and food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.4 percent)," PSA IV-A Director Charito C. Armonia said in the report.
