Manila, June 8 -- The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Monday said landing and takeoff operations at General Santos Airport are limited to government, military, and humanitarian flights following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Sarangani province.

A Notice to Airmen is in effect from 3 p.m. Monday to 6 p.m. on June 11, CAAP said in an advisory.

Earlier on Monday, CAAP announced the cancellation of 17 flights to and from General Santos Airport in Sarangani following the strong earthquake.

CAAP said Cebu Pacific has so far canceled 11 flights, followed by Philippine Airlines (PAL) Express with four canceled flights, and PAL with two flights.
