Manila, March 12 -- A high-value individual (HVI) was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted here Thursday, the Butuan City Police Office (BCPO) reported.

Police identified the suspect as alias Jerome, 22, a resident of Barangay Maon, Butuan City.

Confiscated from the suspect were 800 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP5.44 million, other drug paraphernalia, and a .45 caliber M1911A1 US Army pistol with one magazine and 10 rounds of ammunition.

"The arrest is a reminder to those who engage in the drug trade and use of the continuing commitment of the BCPO in protecting the communities in Butuan City," BCPO Director Col. Restituto Lacano Jr. said in a report.
