Manila, Aug. 8 -- The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) on Friday said it is exploring the use of its idle lands for regional sports facilities.
In a statement, the BuCor Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. said the agency offered to the Philippine Sports Commission its landholdings as potential sites for the establishment of regional sports complexes, training centers, athlete villages, and multi-sport facilities.
Catapang said this is in line with the pronouncement of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during his State of the Nation Address, highlighting the vital role of sports in national development, youth empowerment, and public health.
