Manila, Nov. 3 -- Prisons throughout the country were reminded to take measures against the probable onslaught of Typhoon Tino.

In a statement Monday, Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Director General Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. said his office has taken proactive measures to ensure the safety and preparedness of various correctional facilities.

Catapang said he particularly ordered officials of the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm, Leyte Regional Prison, and Davao Prison and Penal Farm to be more vigilant, prioritizing both safety and effective communication "to navigate through this potentially hazardous situation."
