BOC-NAIA intercepts over P8.3M shabu concealed in machine parts
Manila, May 22 -- The Bureau of Customs seized an abandoned inbound shipment containing an estimated 1.2 kilos of suspected shabu worth PHP8.3 million at a warehouse inspection at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City.
In a statement, the bureau reported that shipment, which arrived in March, originated from Uganda and was consigned to a recipient in Cavite. It consisted of two packages declared as "auto gear bearings (parts for machines)."
Upon physical examination last May 19, Customs authorities discovered approximately 1,234 grams of suspected shabu concealed within the parcels.
