Manila, Oct. 14 -- The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has undertaken reform initiatives to address prevailing corruption within the agency, Malacanang said Tuesday.

This, after the BOC was tagged as "one of the most corrupt agencies" in the Philippines, based on the United States (U.S.) State Department's "2025 Investment Climate Statements" report.

Speaking to reporters, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro cited the progress made by the BOC since Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno assumed office in July 2025.

Castro said the BOC has already coordinated with the American Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Embassy through the Department of Foreign Affairs.
