Manila, Oct. 24 -- A 25-year-old male trafficking victim was intercepted by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City after posing as a local government employee who will go on a leisure trip.

The victim said his recruiters told him to pretend to be a government employee so he can bypass airport checks, according to a news release of the BI- Immigration-Protection and Border Enforcement Section(I-PROBES) on Friday.

He claimed to be a tourist bound for Hong Kong when he tried to leave on Thursday.

He presented a travel authority from the Quezon City Hall, claiming that he is an employee on a personal holiday.
