Manila, April 27 -- Two Americans reportedly among those killed in last week's deadly clash between government troops and suspected New People's Army rebels in Toboso, Negros Occidental arrived in the Philippines only this year, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said Monday.
BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval declined to provide further details on the travel history of American nationals Lyle Prijoles and Kai Dana-Rene Sorem.
"We cannot disclose at this point," she said in an interview.
"Both of them only arrived this year," she added.
Sandoval noted that the two did not enter the country together.
Reports identified Prijoles as an active member of Anakbayan USA since 2012, while Sorem was described by the Philippine Army as a founding membe...
