Manila, June 18 -- The Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) on Thursday assured that African swine fever (ASF) cases in Nueva Vizcaya have been contained and remain under control.

"The Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) clarifies that the African Swine Fever (ASF) cases detected in Nueva Vizcaya this year are not indicative of an ongoing widespread outbreak," the BAI said in a statement.

"The reports were isolated cases that have been promptly addressed and remain under control, with no evidence of transmission or spread in the province."

For 2026, around 23 ASF cases have been reported in the municipalities of Kasibu, Bayombong and Villaverde, according to the Provincial Veterinary Services Office (PVSO).
