Manila, March 12 -- The City Veterinary and Agriculture Office (CVAO) is again mounting an anti-rabies vaccination caravan for more than 40,000 dogs and cats to curb the viral disease.
"The visits to the different barangays are annually done to ensure that pets get their mandatory anti-rabies vaccines and ensure the protection of the owners as well as the public who may get in contact with the animal," Dr. Silardo Bested, CVAO head, said in a media forum on Thursday.
The visits start every March and extend throughout the year as a regular activity that supports the Department of Health's (DOH) goal of a rabies-free Philippines by 2030.
