Baguio, Benguet residents welcome SONA focus on tax relief, power cost
BAGUIO CITY, July 28 -- Residents and local officials in Baguio City and Benguet province welcomed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s proposals on tax relief, lower electricity costs, and anti-corruption concerns affecting ordinary Filipinos, even as some expressed reservations on other issues the President mentioned in his fifth State of the Nation Address.
Bokod, Benguet Mayor Erik Donn Ignacio welcomed the President's recognition of the role of local government units (LGUs) and the national government's continued support for communities.
Ignacio said he hopes the national government will give LGUs greater flexibility in planning and implementing programs based on local needs.
