BACOLOD CITY, Oct. 9 -- The city government, through the City Health Office (CHO), is offering free anti-rabies vaccines for senior citizens, indigent residents, and other marginalized and vulnerable groups starting Thursday.

Citing numerous animal bite cases reported by the CHO, Mayor Greg Gasataya issued an order to make vaccines available at no cost for the priority sectors.

"The city government is committed to safeguarding its constituents from the deadly threat of rabies by ensuring the availability and equitable distribution of rabies vaccines," Gasataya said in a statement Thursday.
