Manila, Sept. 18 -- Cebu-based shipping operator Aznar Shipping Corp. said its net income rose by 155 percent to PHP53 million in the first half of the year amid higher revenues from expanded vessel capacity.

In a statement Friday, the company said revenues increased by 110 percent from PHP100.59 million to PHP210.99 million during the period.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization likewise went up by 97 percent to PHP103.12 million.

Aznar Shipping attributed the revenue growth mainly to the deployment of MV Manoling 6 on the Cebu-Negros Occidental route and MV Alexander 1 on the Cebu-Leyte route, which expanded its operating capacity.
